Heirloom Seeds

Over the last few years Heirloom seeds,  in particular Tomatoes have become increasingly popular due to the excellent flavours from varied shapes, colours and sizes on offer.

The majority of commercial hybrids have been bred to meet certain criteria, usually heavy yields, size and shape – often foregoing that real tomato taste.  It is understandable that the breeders have to take this route due to the financial commercial pressures in producing as many kilos as they can per square metre.
